Our Podiatrists in Kew

Three podiatrists work at our Kew clinic. All are registered with AHPRA. They handle everything from a routine foot check to plantar fasciitis, ingrown toenails and diabetic foot care.

Chalerm Tuantab, Senior Podiatrist. Chalerm consults across all five Align Health Collective clinics. His interest is sports medicine and lower limb conditions, and he works with elite National Premier League football clubs, keeping their players on the park. Outside the clinic he is usually on the water or on a sports field.

Rhys Floro, Senior Podiatrist. Rhys is also a certified personal trainer, so he thinks about how your whole body moves, not just your foot. He focuses on rehabilitation, prehabilitation and functional training, building strength programs and restoring mobility so you trust your movement again.

Ezrah Berry, Podiatrist. Ezrah works in sports podiatry, lower limb biomechanics, strength based rehabilitation and injury prevention. He combines hands-on treatment with a personalised exercise program and plain explanations, so you understand your condition and take an active part in getting better.

Chalerm and Ezrah take bookings online. To see Rhys, phone the clinic on (03) 9853 7836 and we will find you a time.

Podiatry Treatments Available In Kew

Managing foot pain, recovering from a sports injury, or dealing with a long-term condition? Tap any treatment below to see what is involved. Every plan is built around your feet, your history and what you need to get back to. Call us on (03) 9853 7836 if you would rather talk it through first.

General Foot Care

We treat common foot problems like corns, calluses and cracked heels, easing the discomfort and restoring healthy skin. We also treat fungal and bacterial infections such as athlete’s foot, clearing the infection and stopping it coming back. Nail care is part of this too, covering ingrown toenails and thickened or fungal nails, so your feet stay healthy and pain-free.

Musculoskeletal and Sports Injuries

If you have foot, ankle or lower limb pain, we diagnose and treat conditions like plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy and shin splints. We are experienced in rehabilitating sports injuries and will build an exercise program that fits your recovery. Gait analysis and biomechanical assessment help you move more efficiently and cut the risk of the same injury returning.

Orthotics and Support

We prescribe custom orthotics to correct alignment problems, relieve pain and improve how you move. We also give straight advice on footwear, helping you find the right shoe for your feet and your sport, and suggesting modifications that add comfort and support.

Chronic Disease Management

If you are managing a condition like diabetes, we run regular neurovascular assessments to catch problems before they become complications. We also care for arthritis-related foot and ankle problems, and for circulatory or nerve conditions that affect your feet.

Surgical Care

For problems like ingrown toenails we perform minor surgical procedures in the clinic to relieve the pain and prevent infection. We also treat warts and verrucae with effective, minimally invasive options.

Paediatric Podiatry

If your child has a growth-related problem like flat feet, in-toeing or heel pain, we can help. We advise on the right footwear and monitor how their feet are developing, so any issue is picked up early and your child stays comfortable.

Preventive Care

Prevention is a big part of what we do. Whether you compete or simply want your feet to keep working, we offer screenings and advice that head off problems early. We also explain foot health, posture and injury prevention, so you know what to do between appointments.

Specialised Services

For structural foot changes like bunions or hammertoes, we build a plan to reduce the discomfort and improve function. We also care for older adults, working through age-related foot and mobility problems so you can stay active and independent.

Family-Friendly Podiatric Care in Kew, Melbourne

Feet carry you through everything. Training for the 1000 Steps Walk in the Dandenong Ranges, chasing a toddler around Alexandra Gardens, or settling a parent into aged care in Kew, it all runs on your feet.

Foot pain wears you down, and not just physically. So we take the time to assess properly, explain what we find, and put together a plan that fits your health, your goals and the hours you actually have. We see children, adults and older patients, and we can book the family into back-to-back appointments.

Patients come to our Kew clinic from Kew East, Hawthorn, Abbotsford, Richmond, Camberwell and Balwyn.

Frequently Asked Questions Podiatrist Kew

How To Choose a Kew, VIC Podiatrist?

Start with qualifications, experience and the range of services on offer. Location matters too, because a clinic close to home makes it easier to finish a treatment plan. Ask about availability, what a consultation costs and what equipment they use. If you can, walk in and see whether the place feels welcoming and the staff are easy to talk to. Feeling comfortable with the person treating you is a large part of getting a good result.

Should I See An Orthotics Plus Podiatrist Or Orthotist For My Feet?

Orthotists and podiatrists both work on feet and ankles, but they do different jobs. A podiatrist diagnoses and treats foot and ankle conditions. An orthotist designs and makes custom orthoses and braces that support or correct a problem. Depending on what you have, you may benefit from seeing both.

What Does A Podiatrist Do For Your Feet?

A podiatrist diagnoses and treats foot and ankle problems. At our Kew clinic that starts with a detailed assessment of your feet and legs to find the source of the pain, injury or change you have noticed. From there we build a treatment plan, which might include footwear changes, exercises, orthotics, in-clinic treatment or a referral for surgery. We also give you practical advice to keep the problem from coming back.

Why Is Podiatry Foot Care Essential For Your Feet?

Your feet take a lot of load over a lifetime, and that load shows up as pain, discomfort and eventually trouble getting around. Podiatry care catches foot problems early, treats them properly and prevents the complications that follow when they are left alone. Feet that work well make everything else easier.

Can I Use NDIS Funding For Podiatry Services?

Yes, NDIS funding can be used for podiatry care in Kew where the service is reasonable and necessary under your plan. Check with your NDIS plan manager or support coordinator first, so you know how your plan is managed and what is covered before you book.

What Is The Difference Between Podiatry And Physio?

Both look after the lower limb, with different specialties. Podiatrists diagnose and treat the feet and ankles. Physiotherapists treat a wider range of musculoskeletal problems, including the legs, hips and lower back as well as the ankle. Some people see both. We have podiatrists and physiotherapists in the same Kew clinic, so that is easy to arrange.

How Much Does Podiatry In Kew, VIC Cost?

Our standard initial podiatry consult is $156.55, and a follow-up appointment is $135.00. Some treatments, such as custom orthotics or nail surgery, are priced separately because they depend on what you need. Call us on (03) 9853 7836 and we will tell you what your appointment will cost before you book.

Are Podiatry Costs Covered By Medicare?

Podiatry at our Kew clinic is a private fee, and Medicare does not cover routine foot care such as nail trimming or corn removal. There is one exception worth asking your GP about. If you have a chronic condition, your GP can put you on a Chronic Disease Management plan, which allows a limited number of subsidised allied health visits per calendar year. Medicare pays a partial rebate on each of those visits and you pay the difference. Your GP decides whether you are eligible, so raise it at your next appointment. If you hold private health extras cover, bring your card and we will check what you can claim.

What Conditions Can Podiatrists Treat?

Podiatrists in Kew, VIC treat a wide range of foot and lower limb problems, including heel pain, sports injuries, diabetic foot care, nail disorders, shin splints, calluses, leg pain and ingrown toenails. They also perform nail surgery and address postural problems. Treatment is tailored to your feet and to what you want to get back to doing.

Is It Worth Seeing A Podiatrist?

If your feet hurt, or something about the way you walk has changed, it is worth getting looked at. Foot problems rarely fix themselves, and they tend to travel up to the knees, hips and back. Sports podiatry covers preventing, diagnosing and treating sports-related foot and lower limb injuries, and supporting your recovery afterwards. Whether you have chronic discomfort, arthritis, a sports injury or you simply want to stay on your feet, a podiatrist can give you a diagnosis and a plan.

What Is Shockwave Therapy, And How Is It Used In Podiatry?

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that sends high-energy sound waves into the sore tissue to stimulate healing and reduce pain in the foot and ankle. In podiatry it is often used for stubborn plantar fasciitis and other long-standing pain, and it gives you an option that avoids surgery.
