Physiotherapy in Indooroopilly, Brisbane: Your Recovery Starts Here

Pain and injury get in the way of everyday life. Our Indooroopilly physiotherapists assess you properly, explain what is going on in plain terms, and build a treatment plan you can start the same day, so you can move with confidence and get back to what you love.

The clinic is on Level 1, 49 Station Rd, in the Lantos Building, a short walk from Indooroopilly Shopping Centre and Indooroopilly Station. We also see patients from Taringa, Chapel Hill, St Lucia, Toowong and the surrounding Brisbane suburbs. Book online in about a minute, or call (07) 2103 3978 and we will find you a time.

Our Physiotherapists in Indooroopilly

Two physiotherapists work at our Indooroopilly clinic. You see the same person through your recovery, so nobody has to re-explain their history at every visit.

Aimee Carswell, Physiotherapist. Aimee graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) from The University of Queensland, and her interest in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy started during her studies, across a range of clinical settings. She treats back pain, lower limb problems and sports injuries. With a background in touch football and athletics, she knows how frustrating an injury is, and she tailors each plan to the person in front of her rather than the diagnosis on the referral.

Logan Discombe, Physiotherapist. Logan holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology from Canada and a Master of Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney. He works on ankles, knees, hips, shoulders and necks, and has treated both high-level athletes and weekend players in rugby, volleyball and tennis. He deals with the immediate pain, then looks for the cause so the same problem does not come back in six months.

Both are registered with AHPRA. Both are bookable online for an initial physiotherapy consult in Indooroopilly. You can read their full profiles on our team page.

Treatments Available in Indooroopilly

If you are struggling with joint pain, recovering from surgery, or dealing with a sports injury, we can help you get your strength and movement back. Tap a condition below to see how we treat it, or call (07) 2103 3978. Treatment plans are built around your situation, your recovery goals and your lifestyle, so get in touch for detail on yours.

Back, Neck Pain

Neck and back pain, often caused by stress or poor posture, can disrupt daily activities and spread discomfort to the shoulders or head. Our physiotherapist Aimee Carswell treats back and neck pain, working on relieving the pain, restoring movement and addressing what caused it, so the relief lasts.

Chest Pain

Chest pain related to musculoskeletal issues can come from injuries, poor posture or overuse. Our treatment focuses on finding the source of the discomfort, reducing pain and improving movement, so you can breathe and move more freely. Chest pain has other causes too, so see your GP or call 000 if it is sudden, severe, or comes with breathlessness.

Growing Pains

Growing pains affect children and teenagers, causing discomfort in the legs or joints while they develop. We offer gentle, targeted therapy and advice to reduce the pain, support healthy growth and keep young ones active.

Headaches, Migraines

Headaches and migraines can come from tension, posture problems or the neck. We treat those underlying causes with hands-on work and exercise, which for many people reduces how often the headaches arrive and how hard they hit.

Joint Strains

Joint strains from an injury or a repeated movement limit what you can do and hurt while you do it. We work on reducing the pain, restoring the joint’s function and strengthening what surrounds it, so the recovery holds.

Muscle Strains

Muscle strains come from overuse, poor posture or a sudden movement. Treatment focuses on settling the pain, rebuilding strength and restoring flexibility, so you return to your normal activities quickly and safely.

Overuse Injuries

Overuse injuries build up from repeated load and are common in anyone training regularly. You get a rehabilitation plan for the injury itself and the training changes that keep it from coming back.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis causes joint pain and stiffness that gets in the way of everyday movement. Treatment aims to settle the inflammation, improve how the joint works and strengthen the muscles around it, so you move with more comfort.

Pelvic Floor Problems

Pelvic floor problems affect bladder control, posture and core strength. We provide discreet, evidence-based treatment to restore function and reduce discomfort. Read more about pelvic floor physiotherapy in Brisbane.

Posture Issues

Poor posture leads to pain, muscle strain and less movement than you should have. We work on alignment, core strength and how you actually move through a day, rather than telling you to sit up straight.

Sports Injuries

Sports injuries sideline even the most active people. Logan Discombe works on reducing the pain, getting the tissue healing, and building a rehabilitation plan that returns you to your sport with the strength to stay in it.

What to Expect During Your First Visit

Your first appointment runs 45 minutes. You will not be handed a generic exercise sheet at the door. We look for the cause of the pain, not only the spot that hurts, and you leave knowing what the problem is and what happens next.

Assessment. We ask about your symptoms, your history and what your days actually involve, then examine how you move.

Diagnosis. We tell you what we think is going on and why, in words you can repeat to someone else.

Treatment plan. You get a plan with the treatment, the exercises and a realistic timeframe.

Questions. Ask them. You should walk out clear on what to do between now and your next visit.

The clinic sits on Station Road beside Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, so it is easy to reach from Indooroopilly, Taringa, St Lucia, Chapel Hill and Toowong. Wear clothing you can move in.

Frequently Asked Questions Physio Indooroopilly

How to choose a physio in Indooroopilly, QLD?

When choosing a physiotherapist in Indooroopilly, Brisbane, look for a clinic with experienced practitioners, evidence-based treatment and a personalised approach. Reading patient reviews, checking qualifications and choosing a physiotherapist who understands your goals will help you find the right care for your recovery.

What services does Indooroopilly Physiotherapy offer?

At our Indooroopilly clinic we offer sports physiotherapy, injury prevention and rehabilitation, clinical Pilates, sports and remedial massage, exercise-based recovery programs, and treatment for knee, shoulder, hip, ankle and other musculoskeletal injuries.

Appointments are one on one, telehealth is available, and every treatment plan is built around your own needs and recovery goals.

What makes your physio clinic stand out from other Indooroopilly physiotherapists?

Our Station Road clinic stands out because of 45 minute initial consultations, one clinician who stays with you through your recovery, and physiotherapy and podiatry under the same roof. Rather than treating the symptom alone, we look for the underlying cause and build the rehabilitation around your goals.

Remedial massage and clinical Pilates are also available to sit alongside your physiotherapy plan.

Does Physiotherapy in Indooroopilly QLD offer services for runners?

Yes. Whether you are training along the Indooroopilly Riverwalk, running in Moore Park or preparing for an event, our physiotherapists treat runners both to recover from injury and to get back to performing.

That includes ankle sprains, knee pain, muscle strains and overuse injuries, plus the training changes that keep them from returning.

What happens during the first physiotherapy session?

Your first appointment at our Indooroopilly clinic begins with a full assessment. Your physiotherapist will ask about your medical history, your symptoms and your goals, then examine your posture, movement patterns and range of motion. Based on that assessment they will tailor a treatment plan to help you recover and reach those goals.

What are some common Physiotherapy techniques?

Depending on your condition, your physiotherapist may use manual therapy, exercise therapy, clinical Pilates, dry needling, sports and remedial massage, and education to improve how you move and help prevent the next injury.

What are the 3 types of Physiotherapy?

There are many specialised areas of physiotherapy, but three of the most common are musculoskeletal physiotherapy, which covers muscles, joints, bones, tendons and ligaments; sports physiotherapy, which helps people recover from sports injuries and return to activity safely; and paediatric physiotherapy, which supports children with physical, developmental and neurological conditions.
